REACH a safer future together with SGSRegistration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals.
Which REACH obligations are relevant for your company?
When does your company need to register?
The deadlines for the registration of phase-in substances stretch over a time frame of 11 years from the date that REACH came into force, if your company has pre-registered its phase-in substances. What applies to downstream users?
What else could concern you? SVHC & articlesEU manufacturers and importers must notify the EU Chemicals Agency (ECHA) about substances of very high concern (SVHC) in their articles, if these are present in the articles in a volume of greater than 1 ton per calendar year and a concentration of greater than 0,1% (w/w). (This is applicable, if the exposure of humans and the environment cannot be excluded during use and disposal of the article AND if the substance has not been notified for the use by another manufacturer.) According to the ECHA (4. Nov. 2008), for substances on the so-called Candidate List until 1. Dec. 2010, notification is required by 1. Jun. 2011. For substances included on the list at a later date, notification must be submitted no later than 6 months after the inclusion. Suppliers of articles that contain substances on the Candidate List in a concentration of above 0.1% (w/w) have to provide sufficient information, available to them, to their customers or upon request, to a customer within 45 days of the receipt of request. This information must ensure safe use of the article and as minimum state the SHVC name.
