Modelling Environmental Behaviour

Modelling the propagation and transport of agro-chemicals in (saturated and unsaturated)
soils is a very effective way of forecasting
the environmental behaviour of these substances. Modelling helps to validate and control the results of field studies and is generally accepted to be state-of-the-art.
Models used:

  • EU-FOCUS scenarios and models for ground water, surface water

  • Modflow / MT3D: 3-D transport model

  • Flowtrans: 2-dimensional finite element vertical transport model

  • Pelmo (Germany): unsaturated soil zone other applications as required (ASM, Aqua, Sutra, AT123D, HST3D…)

Our range of services:

Simulation and calculation of transport
Ground water (saturated zone):Simulation of transport in the saturated ground water zone. Calculation of the advective-dispersive transport of substances in ground water, taking account of the relevant parameters such as sorption, chemical and biological conversion/decomposition, etc.

Soil (unsaturated zone):
Calculation of the vertical flow and simulation
of transport, taking account of all relevant weather and soil conditions as well as all substance properties. Calculation of pesticide transport in soil profiles, for example. Investigation of concentrations in soil and input concentrations in ground water.
