SGS is pleased to announce that it now offers full cGMP-compliant testing, concurrent with the opening of a new microbiology laboratory in their Shanghai, China facility on March 2nd, 2009. SGS Life Science Services in Shanghai provides services for method development and validation, testing of raw materials, APIs and finished products, as well as testing of Traditional Chinese Medicines.  more

SGS Germany is the only inspection institution accredited by the PDV to verify inland navigation barges referring to new requirements of GMP

Up from the 1st of July 2007, feeding transports of GMP-certified companies are only allowed to be fulfilled by ships owning a relevant certification due to the hygienic codex for inland navigation. This certification will be issued after successful verification and certificates the fulfilling of the hygienic codex. more

Restriction on Hazardous Substances – the new SGS RoHS certification mark

The RoHS legislation covers the restriction of lead and other potentially hazardous substances used in electrical and electronic equipment. Known as Directive 2002/95/EC, it will be enforced throughout the EU from 1st July 2006.
