The CTS division Electrical & Electronics participated successful at the following international trade fairs. In February this year SGS E&E introduced itself at Domotechnica in Cologne and at CeBIT in Hanover.
Domotechnica is the only international trade fair to provide a complete overview of the latest developments in the areas of large and small home appliances, as well as components. At no other trade fair can Europe’s specialists, wholesale and retail dealers, production managers, marketing specialists, product developers and engineers from the industry find out about the latest sector developments in such a compact and comprehensive manner.
Due to this SGS E&E used these trade fairs to introduce their whole portfolio:
- RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances),
- Inspection,
- High-Tech and
- Safety & EMC
The main focus was the “RoHS; 2002/95/EC” directive, which will come in force on the 1st of June 2006. The international sales team demonstrated to customers how SGS E&E can assist to follow this new law. Furthermore, a team of experts explained how to define the affected products and answered questions about the restricted substances. In line with this SGS E&E displayed XRF Screening on two days. For the sub segment Safety, SGS E&E have also created an internet page: www.safety.sgs.com.
Because CeBit in Hanover is the world’s largest trade fair showcasing digital IT and telecommunications solutions for home and work environments SGS E&E set up an additional main focus, High-Tech. The key target groups are users from industry, the wholesale/retail sector, skilled trades, banks, the service sector, government agencies, science and all users passionate about technology. CeBIT offers an international platform for comparing notes on current industry trends, networking, and product presentations.
The High-Tech division can be split into Microelectronics and Wireless Technology Testing. The SGS E&E team of experts advised especially about failure and damage analysis in the field of Microelectronics, about the newest Wi-Fi testing (WPA2) and 3G RRM-accreditation in the field of Wireless Technology Testing.
The successful participation at both trade fairs is thanks to the international sales team of E&E.
